Cozy Baby Blanket

i need a patern for a quick and easy baby blanket….i have 13 days to knit it…..and i have only knitted scarfs before! to top it all off i only know the simple knitting stitch….if any one can help that would be wonderful…..thank you so much!

yes, just do garter stitch in a baby yarn. the baby yarn comes in self stripping so you don’t even have to change color if you want to. Most skein’s of baby yarn have a pattern or even the size of what a baby blanket is. to do it in 13 days you might want to subtract a inch or two from the total size. but it really doesn’t matter what size the blanket is. if it is a girl she will eventually use it for her dolls.

I’m looking to make a cute baby blanket for my unborn baby. I still have mine that my mom made for me before I was born and I would like my baby to have it as a keep sake later in life.
I need some suggestions regarding the type of "fabric" I should use. I don’t mind spending money on something expensive as long as it’s long lasting and good quality. I was thinking about cashmire for a while, do you think it would be suitable for a blanket for a newborn?
Last question, where can I get good quality materials to knit the blanket? Are there any "luxury fabric stores" either online or regular one that somebody can recommend me? Thanks a bunch!

It’s called crocheting (pronounce "kro – SHAY – ing")or just crochet, and you can use any kind of yarn, the same as for knitting. Pure cashmere is a bad choice because it can’t be cleaned, and because the fibers come off, and baby will breathe them in. You should look for a nice baby yarn. (or wool, as you brits call it. But it won’t always be made of wool.)
