Cast on about 20 stitches or whatever you need to do about 5 or 6 berry stitches, and then knit about 20 to 25 rows. Measure how big that is, and that will tell you about how many stitches to cast on for your standard baby blanket (i think 20 inches by 30 inches)<br><b>References : </b><br> Make yourself a guage swatch. The only thing is you have to know how the number of stitches that is in the stitch to figure the amount of stitches you will need.I just found the pattern for the berry stitch and it should help you figure you cast on.
