The bulk of the instruction for this blanket is in part 2. This video details the materials you’ll need and some preliminaries in case you have no idea how to knit. Even if you’re an advanced knitter you’ll want to learn THIS cast on method because it’s super fast and cuts your cast on time in half! This seriously comes in handy for large projects!
I teach the Simple Cast On method in detail here but just in case you need a little extra clarification here’s another link:
You’ll need to know how to knit and how to purl. If you don’t, here are some vids because I don’t go over that in this video:

@jonnycortes If you …
!
@jonnycortes If you are consistent but average about 2 weeks. A week if you’re fast and a month to 2 months if you’re a super slow poke like me and keep stopping. But for real, I knit half way on my second baby blanket in 2 days (really 5- 7 hours of knitting cuz I only knit like 3 hours straight each day). My point is, if I’d pick the thing up more often I’d be done in about a week

Well, I went to …
Well, I went to Michael’s, JoAnn’s and back to Walmart and they DID have the yarn with the sheen…I didn’t see the Red Hearts shiny one, bu they have another brand called Caron Simply Soft and they have quite a few colors with soft sheen… just update for anyone interested…

@nanidiamond Red Heart Super Saver yarn. You can get it at Michaels or any other crafts store. I’ve never seen this shiny variety in Walmart, they tend to carry mostly the cottony Red Hearts but check still!

what brand and type of thread is that? I like how shiny/shimmery the green is…(sorry, I can’t hear what you’re saying since don’t have volume working )…
You don’t have 2 …
You don’t have 2 use the size ten — You can use bigger and it’ll knit up faster! (or smaller if you want, but that will take longer to knit) But if you use bigger the blanket will be lacier and probably less warm for baby so you decide what you want. I just tell you size ten cuz that’s what I used, in case you want to replicate my blanket. But the size 10 is just what I got off the internet when I found the pattern. I actually changed the pattern but kept the size the same.

You only knit and …
You only knit and purl each stitch on the edges. On the body of the blanket you knit 1 entire row (127 stitches all the way across) then purl 1 entire row to create the stockinette stitch. See Pt. 2 for links to vids on how to do the seed and stockinette stitch. Thanks for watching!
