My sister still sleeps with her baby blanket!How can i get her to stop?

Ok my sister is 13 and she still sleeps with her baby blanket and shes 13 she also sucks her thumb me mom and dad want her to stop.How do we get her to stop!
let her sleep with the blanket, but the thumb sucking should really, REALLY stop!! i don’t know how to make her stop the thumb sucking….maybe take privilages away every time she does it? i had a friend who sucked her thumb up until 6th grade (which is when she got braces) and she stopped after that.

She may be holding onto her past; when things were simpler ; this is a very confusing time for her. Let her know she can depend on other things, like her family. Whatever you do, don’t yell at her, it’ll make her feel even more insecure.

don’t try to force her to give it up…she will do it when she is ready. She is doing no harm to anyone…remember she could be doing a lot worse.

Thumb sucking at 13? Wow. She needs help. Be nice to her and take her to someone who can help her. The blanket I wouldn’t mind, but the thumb sucking is a little weird.
What grade is she in? 7th? 8th? She can stop now.
