why do baby need there baby blanket when they want to sleep?

I have some nieces and nephews and I have notice that when they are tired and sleep they always seem to need there baby blanket. In other situation like when they are crying and you don’t know what they need, but really they just their blanket. So you give it to them and they stop crying. But why it is so they need there blanket?
it makes them feel safe! its a security thing… Some kids its a stuffed animal, or even a soother… They will want it even more if they are not in their home, it makes them feel "at home" with it. Perfectly normal!

The reason for that is because it comforts him/her in a way…..

it is a comfort thing. it is OK though. it is a tool to allow them so self soothe. think of it like thier favorite PJs or something.
